Information on applications will be sent to CRAs and will be recorded by them, including information on your business and its proprietors, the agreement you have with us, the payments you make under it, and default or failure to keep its terms, and any change of name and address. CRAs may create a record of the name and address of your business and its proprietors if there is not one already. Where you borrow from us, we will give details of your accounts and how you manage it/them to CRAs.
If your borrowing (with CVF) is not repaid in full and on time, CRAs will record the outstanding debt. This information may be supplied to other organisations by CRAs and FPAs to perform similar checks and to trace your whereabouts and recover outstanding debts.
We normally retain personal data for a period of 6 years from the last date on which we have a financial arrangement in place with you unless we need to vary this for good operation or commercial reasons or in order to meet other legal obligations. We review our retention periods for personal information on a regular basis. We are legally required to hold some types of information to fulfil our statutory obligations (for duty for HMRC etc).
Regardless of whether your application with CVF is successful, the credit reference agency will place a record of our search on your credit file. This record (but not our name) will be seen by other organisations when you apply for credit in the future. Large numbers of applications within a short time period could detrimentally affect your ability to obtain credit.
If we suspect the information provided to us is deliberately inaccurate or we suspect identity fraud we will record this and may also pass this information to FPAs and other organisations involved in crime and fraud prevention.
You have a choice about whether or not you wish to receive information from us. If you do not want to receive direct marketing communications from us about our products, services, events, promotions and news then you can select your choices by ticking the relevant boxes situated on the form on which we collect your information.
